LUSAKA — The National Association of Media Arts (NAMA) has continued to receive praise from ZESCO for its role in promoting awareness against infrastructure vandalism through creative arts and community engagement initiatives.
This came during a strategic meeting held between NAMA and ZESCO to review the progress made under the ongoing partnership project aimed at educating communities on the dangers and effects of vandalism on national infrastructure.
During the meeting, ZESCO commended NAMA for the professionalism and consistency demonstrated throughout the campaign, noting that the association’s strategies had significantly contributed to increased visibility, publicity, and public engagement.
According to discussions held during the meeting, the short film screenings being conducted in various communities have proven to be an effective tool in sensitizing members of the public on the importance of protecting infrastructure.

ZESCO officials expressed satisfaction with the impact the screenings are creating, describing the initiative as a sustainable awareness strategy capable of delivering long-term results rather than serving as a one-time intervention.
The meeting also focused on the next phase of the project, which involves the production of documentaries featuring various ZESCO Heads of Departments and officials speaking on issues surrounding vandalism and infrastructure protection.
ZESCO provided NAMA with a list of officials expected to participate in the documentary interviews, with filming scheduled to commence tomorrow.
In reaffirming its commitment to the partnership, ZESCO assured NAMA of continued support throughout the implementation of the project and emphasized the importance of working closely with creatives in delivering impactful public messages.
The two institutions further discussed preparations for the upcoming finale screening of the Short Film and Animation Competition. During the discussions, NAMA emphasized the importance of involving stakeholders during the final screening event to strengthen collaboration and broaden the campaign’s impact.
ZESCO welcomed the proposal and pledged support in engaging additional partners and stakeholders ahead of the finale event.
The successful meeting further strengthened the partnership between NAMA and ZESCO, highlighting the growing role of creative arts in community education and national development efforts aimed at combating infrastructure vandalism.
