I feel greatly honoured to have this opportunity to address you. On behalf of the National Association of Media Arts (NAMA) and indeed on my own behalf, I would like to say that I am particularly humbled by the support we have received so far. With extended open arms I do invite you to join us. We are challenged by the expectations of the general membership and all well wishers. There is need to share experiences, resources and cumulative knowledge in cinematic arts and other related media arts. The strength of unified voices is necessary in promoting dialogue and discourse for our industry’s growth.

It has become apparent to us, as a committee, that there is need to consolidate the gains made by the previous committee. We are alive to the fact that a strong foundation and wider consciousness about the meaning and implications of our quest is necessary.

What has emerged very clearly is that NAMA has to go through a soul searching process which will involve several stakeholders in the country. The organization’s activities must be made more accessible to all, throughout the country.
